Mark 2:22. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

Thought for the Day: Fasting Helps Create The New You

Reflection for the Day: The Past Needs To Be Put Aside That The New May Live

Fasting has always been a part of religious worship. The recognition that physical sacrifice can bring forth spiritual gains has been understood, not only by New Testament saints, but also by those that came prior to Jesus. When the Lord was questioned about fasting, He spoke of the impact it has on the recreating of those that sought to follow His teachings. It aides in the destruction of the old man, making room for the new creature.

Saints fast for a variety of reasons, the seeking of miracles not being the least. The area that brings the greatest return is in that of your recreation. The Lord has much to pour into you, things that require a death to your old way of thought. As you give yourself to prayer, and fasting, wonderful things will take place. You will witness the death of your past and a great future being established.
