James 2:20-21. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? . Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Thought for the Day: Faith Without Works Has No Value
Reflection for the Day: True Faith Results In Works
James, in his epistle, challenges those that state they have faith but have no works. He speaks of Abraham, the father of our faith, who demonstrated his faith by his willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac. His faith was made perfect through his works. Without them, his faith would have no value.
Faith is more than receiving. It demands, that though your obedient to God, that you take action. As the Lord directs you, go forward in faith, doing all that He has commanded. It is through your works that your faith is made perfect. Without them your faith has no value.
